Hi #GYNEGirls, #Preggos, and #Gents!
Dr. Drai has missed you SO much. Just left the Salon; I desperately needed a mani and pedi. Now I’m sitting in Panera Bread, jamming to Adele, reading a chapter from my book…Yes, I said BOOK. I couldn’t hold this “T” any longer.
Hunni … I’m writing a book just for YOU.
Now you know why I have been quiet for the last 3 months. Anyway…Just got finished eating Tomato Basil Soup with Grilled Cheese. Yum! Yum! You know I had to add pieces of bacon to the top of my soup, right? I’m such a fat boy at heart. This is a perfect ending to a perfect weekend on a perfect staycation.
I have to admit this was my very, first staycation.
Chile, and it was CHEAP! You save so much money. I’ll be doing this more often AND you should be doing the same. There’s no airfare, bag fees, seat fees. There’s no taxi or shuttle fees, rental car costs, or hotel fees. This is the LIFE. And most importantly, you are not tired.com. I know it’s not just me, but you know traveling can take a lot out of your body.
- Waiting in LONG lines
- Going through security checkpoints
- Going through customs
- People talking to you crazy
- Being on a layover for hours
Sometimes it’s just not worth the hassle. I’ll take a staycation over that any day. This staycation has allowed me to truly REST with no STRESS. And that’s what we ALL need. For those of you with kids, you must staycation without them- just for peace of mind. Sometimes you just need a break from being responsible and to be a kid yourself. And BTW, just because you are at home doesn’t mean you have to work. Don’t check your work email, go to the job, or talk to anyone that works with you. Don’t finish house projects or run errands. You are on stayca! Leave that stuff for Monday!
Treat your staycation like a real vacation because it is.
PLAN in advance! Book a place to stay or stay at home, make reservations for restaurants or cook a different cuisine or hire a cook, decide what you want to do- museums, plays, concerts, movies, cruises, tours, clubbing, paintball, horseback riding, hiking, sporting events, etc…I stayed at a local Bed and Breakfast. Sidebar: They are always cheaper than Hotels.
When I arrived, I told the front desk person that I was a visitor so he spilled the T on “his” city-Pittsburgh. LOL! I ended up going on the Duquesne Incline for the thrill (I hate heights), Andy Warhol Museum, took a private tour of the city on land AND water, went to my 1st Pirates game, & watched the sunset in Point State Park. FUN Times! For food, I hired a cook to prepackage my meals. For more relaxation, I hired a massage therapist. The best part is- it cost less than $250. WOW! That’s a deal for a weekend getaway. #Gents- you don’t need to spend lots of money to impress your gurl. Plan a staycation for you two to rekindle the fire. Now I’m about to drive HOME…Staycation- please stay!
